U11s Emeralds vs Bury FC Foundation (H) - 19th Mar 2023

A 3-1 defeat for the Emeralds this morning against Bury FC Foundation Thunder.

Another close game, but the girls can count themselves unlucky today. They played some great football and fought hard all game. They went 1 down from a fantastic free kick, but then Lily pulled it back to 1-1 with a superb long range lob. Unfortunately the girls went 2-1 down just before half time from another great direct free kick. They started off the 2nd half a little slow, with Bury squeezing in a 3rd goal which we really should have stopped earlier. The Emeralds kept going though, creating chances and getting shots in, with Bury's keeper having a great game. They just couldn't find the goals though, so the game ended 3-1.

Can't fault the effort today. On another day, it's a completely different result.

POTM was Lily. Not only did she score a superb goal, but she controlled everything from midfield, and did a great job finding space with her runs.
