A 1-1 draw this morning for the Emeralds against Ramsbottom Rockets.
The girls got off to a slow start, not really getting going in the first half. A bit slow to the ball and not getting passes away early enough. Emelia was having a good game in goal, but Ramsbottom managed to get their goal in the first half with a really good, strong, powerful shot.
The girls were much better in the second half, having listened at half time, and really started to play the football we know they can. Chances were few and far between, but great pressure from our strikers forced their keeper to kick the ball straight into Jess and the ball deflected off her and rolled in. Both teams kept battling but the breakthrough didn't come. A draw was a fair result.
POTM was Anna. She gave another great battling performance, really making life difficult for the opposition out on the wing.
