U11s Emeralds vs Westbury Bees (A) - 6th Nov 2022

A nice win away for the Emeralds this morning against a very good team in Westbury Bees.  All the girls were simply fantastic today, in what was a real team performance.  They were well organised and disciplined all game, playing together as a unit.

We went 1-0 up in a close first half, through a goal from Annie, with some great pressing from the team.  The 2nd half was even closer, but Annie managed once again to get on the scoresheet, scoring her 2nd goal of the game after a great run using her blistering pace. 

 

As the game went on, the girls had to dig in and work hard from one another, with Macy in goal producing some fantastic stops, coming out and meeting the ball.  Westbury managed to get their goal late on, which meant a nervous finish for the Emeralds. 

 

However, some tight, organised defending led to a late counter attack, with Darcie finishing off a great move.  Another superb win and a real display how much they're getting stronger as a team.

POTM went to Evie today.  She was great in defence, staying calm, organising others and showing great strength all game.  Well done Evie and well played Emeralds! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
