U15s Diamonds vs AFC Bolton (H) - 5th Feb 2023

Another quality performance!

Match Report

Milnrow (12) v AFC Bolton (0)

The girls entertained AFC Bolton on Sunday morning and finished the game 12-0 winners.  It was Ellie and the defences 7th clean sheet in 9 games this season and maintained The Diamond’s position at the top of the league.

The usual fast start ensued and after three minutes, a move set up by Maisie found Libby, who in turn found Cienna in acres of space to finish for 1-0.

Ella’s ball to Holly on the fifth minute mark saw her take on the defender and her shot hit the outside of the post.  The same pair combined after seven minutes, and Holly finished to the keepers left for 2-0.

On the twenty-four-mark, superb control, and finish from Libby, after magnificent work by Holly, made it 3-0 and then another Holly assist, this time for Lois to finish for 4-0.

On thirty-six minutes, Libby made it 5-0 and two minutes later turned provider, for Holly 6-0.

The girls were not finished yet, and just before the break, a great run and finish by Cienna put the girls 7-0 up at half-time.

Half-time: 7-0

A mistake by the Bolton defence five minutes into the second half saw The Diamond’s make it 8-0.  They tried playing the ball out of defence, but Libby was alive to intercept and calmly finish for her seventh hattrick in nine games.  Libby has scored three or four goals in a game this season!

A great run and finish by Liv twelve minutes in gave Liv a well-deserved goal for 9-0.

Lois made it 10-0 in the twenty-fourth minute, when Holly intercepted the ball in the Milnrow defence, played the ball to Mia in the centre of midfield, who’s through ball found Lois to finish off the post.

Lois completed her hattrick shortly afterwards for 11-0 and then a fine strong fun from the ever-impressive Megan, saw her upended in the box for a penalty, for which Mia stepped up and coolly sent the keeper the wrong way for 12-0.

Full-time: 12-0

Another quality performance from all girls but this week’s girl of the game, who we could not split, went to Poppy and Liv, who were both superb this week.  Well done girls.
