U8s Eagles v Shawside (A) - 1st Apr 2023
A game of 2 halves!
5-2 loss for the u8 eagles today against a decent Shawside Junior's Inter team, playing two 20s.
It was a great first half, Eagles just nicking it at the end to go in 0-1 up. Some good work in net from Sheadun kept us in the game.
Couldn't of had a better start scoring straight after the break 0-2 up & in cruise control.
Then it went wrong with players arguing between themselves and Shawside brought on a no9 who we just couldn't deal with.
The "trick to this" is to be corrupt, even when we are talking about kids football 🤦🏻. The "trick" is that you dual register players, with different leagues (many times this doesn't even happen as egos outweigh rules) - The parents of children that aren't quite good enough for genuine academies flock to people, gangs, that say they are scouts & maybe are 🤷🏼♂️. They then set up their own leagues & clubs, but do things like today to avoid "level" competition, in favour of promoting themselves. This gives the league, club, parent, child an ego boost. Just not our style, even if authorities allow it 🤷🏼♂️
Everything went to the No.9 as they banged in 4 goals in a crazy 10 minute period in the second half.
Solid effort from the boys today. I must say it was a good watch, just frustrating at times.
It will come 💪💪⚽️🦅
