Match Report

Despite conceding 8 goals which was 5 more conceded than last week, todays performance was actually better.

A lot of the goals we conceded on the back of a the opposing team clearing their lines with a long ball and them being 1v1, or individual errors.

We created multiple chances in the first 5 minutes, hitting the post 3 times and causing their keeper to make a few decent saves. If these had gone in then the match might have been different.

That said, even at 3-0 down the team didnt give in which was good to see and we got back into the game with James showing some good footwork to make it 3-1. However the team switched off again throughout the match and it seemed that the match resembled a yo yo at times.

However when we got up the pitch into the opposing half, it was mostly through good football which is tough on the long grass pitch at Hopwood College in Heywood which really could benefit from a lawn mower.

Whilst the end result might be disappointing, as a whole we were the better footballing individuals.

James took his goals well, and one was a good example of teamwork with Charlie Taylor assisting with some good passing. James getting man of the match, not just because his goals for his hard work to win the ball, press and keep on going and putting a big shift in today.
