U9s Lions vs Shawside Athletico 26th Mar 2023

Under 9s lions v Shawside Athletico.

 

We quickly realised this Shawside team was pretty good . They were quick , organised , strong in the tackle and really comfortable on the ball .  

 

We road our luck a bit at times but in the main defended our lines well and stuck to our positions . Everybody getting stuck in and doing their job .

 

Grayson on his debut in goal made a big difference making a few good saves and did well positionally from quite a few corners we conceded .

 

We took the lead through great pressure and shot from Reo that was saved and Adil as he does , calmly stuck it away .

 

Shawside hit back with a great finish. 1-1 afternoon at the interval .

 

Second period was much of the same 50/50 until shawside struck again through a another good finish. It was a good battle for both sides .

 

The 3rd period saw us try and get more into the game as we had defended well but just couldn’t seem to get our passing game going like we can .

 

Maybe it was the 8-30 start after clocks forward that was taking it out of us .
