U12s Tigers vs Chadderton (12th Mar 2023)

Top of the league clash today we where first and Chadderton 2nd. With games in hand we where equal on points. So massive match with only theee games remaining.

The lads started slow, think they where nervous to be fair but battled hard. We where on the back foot a lot and inevitably conceded. At that point conceding and struggle to get in the game we could of folded but the goal seemed to kick start the lads.

They played a lot better football and we managed to get an equaliser just before half time! Half time we had a chat and they where up for it. I always tell them to play for the back from goal kicks but it was just inviting to much pressure, we decided to go longer in the second half and move a few players around.

The second half was better for us, the opposition began making fouls and getting desperate, they where really uncomfortable. The opposition coaches where yellow carded and it actually played into our favour there fouls where slowing the game down for us which suited us more.

A couple of chances in the last 10 minutes but just couldn’t score. 2 minutes to go the ball dropped to Jake outside the box and he has hit it top corner!

Absoloute scenes!! a Nervous last 2 minutes but the lads saw it out 👍🏻

Shoutout to Lewis who pulled off some cracking saves..
