U9s Sharks vs Kersal FC (A) - 28th Jan 2023
A game of two halves!
Milnrow Sharks lost 6-1 away at Kersal in a game that was a lot closer than the scoreline suggested.
Milnrow started really well but conceded against the run of play. After going 1-0 down, we came back into the game and were the better team with Hamza Hussain scoring the equaliser and Milnrow looking the more likely to take the lead. But we didn’t capitalise on a good 5/10minute period. Milnrow had two good break away chances but didn’t take them, and from a corner, defended it well but struggled to clear, Kersal putting in a cross which wasn’t on target until it took a huge deflection off Edward Roberts to give them a 2-1 lead at half time.
Second half was scrappy, and with another own goal almost straight away by Adam Kargbo, Kersal took a 3-1 lead and with the concentration lapsing we made some poor decisions going forward and never really competed, conceding three more goals to make it a flattering scoreline.
Man of the Match was Adam Kargbo who gave a tireless performance in midfield.
Overall, a strong first half performance showed that we are moving in the right direction. Ball watching and poor concentration costing us in the second half.
